Santa Barbara is a city that likes to be beautiful, inside and out. We also like to compare our city to the French Riviera, not least because the light inspires so many artists to put paint on canvas.
A great way to see all the art that Santa Barbara has on show, head out downtown on the first Thursday of each month. You’ll find that museums and art galleries have opened their doors, giving the public access to the artists behind the art, and the organization provides a map to the tour each week.
But before you think this is your only opportunity to see inside the galleries and museums, you’ll be happy to know that they also hold regular hours with art openings and special showings. Keep an eye on our Events pages for a list of art gallery and museum exhibition openings.
A contemporary art museum with a wide range of exhibitions that rotate throughout the year. In addition to its main location at the top of the Paseo Nuevo mall, the MCASB also has a satellite facility in the Funk Zone.
