One of Santa Barbara’s most popular areas is as beautiful to look at as it is to look out from: The Riviera. With curving streets weaving up the hillsides along the steep Alameda Padre Sierra road that runs from the Mission down to Montecito, the Riviera boasts unique properties in Spanish, Ranch and Craftsman style, with a few contemporary homes in the mix. There’s not a bad view to be had from this part of town, where you’ll get panoramic views from East Beach all the way up to the Mesa, taking in ocean, island, harbor and, at night, the city lights.
Along with the climate and terrain, this area is the reason that Santa Barbara has been called “The American Riviera”. It’s a treasured Santa Barbara locale, and not for people who want to be within a short walking distance of downtown. But the views are worth it!
